Joan Kaplan, a top selling real estate agent with a focus on the neighborhoods around Emory University and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2014 she the DeKalb Association of Realtors awarded her the prestigious "Clark Harrision Award Community Service Award" for her philanthropic contributions to her community. Joan, along with Marshall Berch and Associates earned "Top Realtor Group" and "Top Mega Group" for numerous consecutive years.
Resourceful, adventurous and tenacious, Joan loves to travel, renovate homes and talk (a lot). Raised in St. Louis MO, Joan attended Bradley University in Peoria IL and lived in Louisville KY before moving to Atlanta in 1988 where she discovered a passion for real estate. Joan began purchasing investment property and renovating homes in 1999, became a licensed real estate agent in 2005 and has closed more than 400 real estate transactions. In addition to selling real estate, Joan enjoys playing tennis. gardening, cooking and volunteering. She has earned numerous awards for her community involvement and in 2015 established the Kaplan Family Philanthropic Fund to provide money for local, housing-oriented charities. She and her husband of 33 years have two daughters, 1 rescue pup, 1 cat and in the past has had 4 backyard chicken and 2 honeybee hives.
